Jonah – Lessons in Following God’s Will

Jonah was directly told God’s will for him and he literally headed off in the opposite direction! We’ve learned in previous weeks what God’s will is for us; now we learn from Jonah what to do and what not to do when it comes to actually following His will.



1 Peter 2:13-25 – Willing to Suffer

God’s will for us, His children, has more to do with our character than our comfort. Following the example of Jesus, we learn from much of the book of 1 Peter that sometimes to be in God’s will means to endure suffering for His name’s sake.



1Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice, Pray and Give Thanks

These short verses are easy to remember but can be much harder to do. Join us as we profile the lives of three individuals who have learned to rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, because this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus!



1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 – Set Apart

As followers of Christ, we have been and are to be set apart for God’s holy purposes. Unfortunately, we sometimes find ourselves dragged down by the world around us. Join us as we consider these instructions from 1 Thessalonians and how they help keep us in God’s will.
